Nova PhDs Evacuation

Ahoy,

I figured I would post a response to John's query on the main page for all to easily see--anyway, I am in Memphis, safe and sound. Hopefully I will have a home and job to return to in a few days...

I got out when the getting was good, and only took about a weekend's worth of clothes. From what I can tell from the reports, things are pretty grim. I may regret my new office with windows after all...

have you heard/seen anything from your part of NO yet? i saw on the news this morning that some levees had finally failed and there was more flooding now in places than yesterday.

where are you planning on staying? (i assume it will be a while before you can get back down there?)
