journal question
i have a query for some of you who know more about journals in philosophy and religious studies than i do. i have a paper (on the theme of hoping against hope in a literary work) that i'm writing that would, from what I can tell, be appropriate to any of the following journals, but i don't really have a sense of which one is more prestigious, etc. i believe all 4 of them are peer-reviewed and internationally circulating. so, anybody have any advice on these? the journals are

Philosophy and Literature
Religion and Literature
Literature and Theology
Religion and the Arts

if there are any good journals in philosophy/religious studies and literature other than these, that would be good to know as well. thanks in advance for the help!

John: I'm familiar with the first three, but not Religion and the Arts. I've published in Literature and Theology, which is a solid, peer-reviewed journal published by Oxford UP (Graham Ward and David Jasper are the former editors; they've also published David Klemm et. al.). _Philosophy and Lit_ is also good, though I'm not sure how hospitable they are to religious themes. Religion &Literature is pretty much the other standard journal in the field of religion &the arts and is quite ecumenical. Another to consider--probably 3rd on your list--would be _Christianity &Literature_.

You might make _Religion &Literature_ your first choice, just because the word "theology" in the OUP journal can scare some folks!

thanks so much! that's exactly the kind of info. i was looking for! i will try out religion and literature sometime this summer when i've had the chance to finish the paper. (oh, and from what i can tell, religion and the arts is a relatively new journal, only a few years old, coming out of BC.)
