Election in Intro
Friends, Colleagues, Countrymen, etc.:
I am teaching intro for the first time in many moons. We've been doing some very basic epistemology, now morphing into self-knowledge and identity. I hope in the next two weeks or so to morph again towards politics to give us some time in the run-up to the election to think about things like (a) what kind of knowledge is required to make an informed vote?; (b) how do I reflect who I am in my voting choices?; and other similar questions.
Does anyone have some accessible (to 1st year non-majors) articles or short selections from books to suggest?
I'm also interested in looking at some get out the vote campaigns in popular culture ("rock the vote," "vote or die", etc.) Any suggestions on that would be welcome, as well.
Many thanks,
